Athena SWAN – Charter for Women in Science
UEL has re-iterated its commitment to gaining an Athena SWAN award. The charter scheme recognises commitment to advancing women’s careers in science, technology, engineering, maths and medicine (STEMM) employment in higher education and research.
Dr Mary Linington, Senior Lecturer in Chemistry in Cass School of Education and Communities will take up post to lead the work.
Mary has been at UEL for over six years, teaching chemistry and leading the PGCE Chemistry programme. She worked with the WISE, (Women into Science and Engineering) and GIST (Girls into Science and technology) programmes way back in the 1980s. Still concerned that the issue has not been successfully tackled, she is looking forward to leading the work towards academic equality!
If you want to contact Mary then please email email@example.com or call 0208 2232308.
