2017 Round of Leverhulme Trust Philip Leverhulme Prizes Now Open to Nominations
The Leverhulme Trust administers a range of funding awards to support research and education in any subject area. It is traditionally a major funding source for those conducting research in British universities.
The Trust’s Philip Leverhulme Prizes recognise and facilitate the work of outstanding scholars of proven achievement who have made, and continue to make, original and significant contributions to knowledge in selected disciplines.
The 2017 competition is now accepting nominations in the following subject areas:
- Biological Sciences
- Mathematics and Statistics
- Philosophy and Theology
- Sociology and Social Policy
Subject areas are intentionally broad, and nominations will be considered without heed to the nominee’s departmental affiliation. Prizes are worth £100,000 each, to support the continuation of work over two or three years, and will be paid in two equal instalments to the prize holder’s employing organisation.
Nominees must hold a post in a UK institution of higher education, research organisation or registered charity, and have been awarded their highest degree within ten years of the deadline date (exceptions to this will be made in extenuating circumstances).
Nominations should be made by the nominee’s head of department, or equivalent, by the deadline of 17 May 2017.
