UEL has signed up to the Race Equality Charter (REC) with a view to submitting in February 2019.
The charter is managed by the Equality Challenge Unit which aims to support and encourage universities to work towards race equality through improving the representation, progression and success of minority ethnic staff and students within higher education.
The charter provides a framework through which we as an institution can work to identify and self-reflect on barriers standing in the way of minority ethnic staff and students. Through this self-assessment we aim to develop initiatives and solutions for action. The self-assessment and action plan form the submission to apply for a Bronze REC award.
